100 Episodes of The Whole Enchilada-5 Lessons Learned (4 min read)

I’m thrilled to celebrate this incredible milestone! Many podcasts don’t make it past five episodes, and only a small percentage ever reach 100. So this achievement isn’t just mine – it’s ours. I owe this success to you, the Enchilada Nation! We’ve grown together, both in numbers and in personal development, and it’s been an honor to share this journey.

When I started The Whole Enchilada Podcast, my goal was simple: to become a more complete version of myself by learning and sharing with others. By that measure, the podcast has been a massive success. And the greatest reward has been the messages from listeners like you, who’ve found value, insight, and connection here.

To celebrate, I want to share the top 5 lessons I’ve learned along the way:

1. “Whole” Does Not Necessarily Mean “More”

The “whole” in The Whole Enchilada isn’t about “more” – it’s about completeness. In our culture, it’s easy to believe that more of anything means better, but that’s not always true. On this journey, I’ve gained clarity on what a “whole” version of myself looks like. It’s not about knowing it all, having it all, or doing it all. It’s about knowing what truly matters, being who I’m meant to be, and focusing on what’s essential.

2. Quality Over Quantity

Many of us race through our days trying to fit everything in, yet how often do we reflect on the quality of those moments? Imagine if each item on your to-do list received a score based on how much happiness it brought or how present you were. Protect the moments that matter most, especially those with key relationships. By prioritizing quality in what we do and whom we spend time with, we elevate the quality of our lives.

3. Life on Your Terms – Freedom

Every episode ends with my reminder to “Go Live Life on Your Terms.” But what does that mean? To live a life that’s truly yours, you must define it clearly. This gives you not only a roadmap for getting there but also the ability to recognize it when you arrive. Clarity on what you really want is the first step to genuine freedom.

4. Mindful Consumption

Confession time: I put the lowest-grade fuel in my truck – does that make me a bad driver? Maybe not, but it illustrates a point: the quality of what we consume affects the quality of what we produce. When it comes to our minds and bodies, mindful consumption is essential. For the mind, feed it knowledge and experiences that build you up across life’s key areas – health, relationships, finances, and spirit. For the body, prioritize nourishing food and movement. What you fuel yourself with matters.

5. The Power of Proximity

The people we spend time with deeply influence who we become. If we’re clear on what we want to learn and who we aspire to be, we can find those who’ll help us get there. Right now, ask yourself: what are you learning from your closest relationships, and what are they learning from you? The TWE community is filled with people who inspire me to grow, and I’m grateful for that shared energy and vision.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of The Whole Enchilada Podcast. I can’t wait to bring you the next 100 episodes!

With heartfelt gratitude,
Marcus
